History

Thomas K. Purcell co-founded the firm, with his colleagues after working for the Internal Revenue Service. The firm’s co-founders brought similar significant experience to the table in establishing Purcell, Flanagan & Hay. Timothy L. Flanagan was trust counsel for Florida National Bank. At the same time, Jonathan L. Hay had been a tax manager for the international accounting firm KPMG.

Doggett-Tucker House

Our flagship office is located at the Doggett-Tucker House, along Jacksonville’s riverfront. The firm has restored the shingle-style residence, initially built in 1917 for Judge John Locke Doggett, with the same precision it provides to clients. The riverfront landmark is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been cited by the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission.
